PHILADELPHIA, PA: A. Harold Datz, Of Counsel to the Philadelphia law firm
Haggerty, Goldberg, Schleifer & Kupersmith, P.C. has been appointed
Chairperson of Philadelphia Bar Association Commission on Judicial Selection
and Retention. The Association’s Commission on Judicial Selection
and Retention evaluates persons seeking judicial office to enable voters
in making informed voting decisions. The Commission’s evaluations
are based on criteria such as legal ability, experience, temperament,
administrative ability, integrity and devotion to improvement of the quality
of justice. The Commission is composed of thirty members, four of whom
are non-lawyers. In order to bring a variety of experience and viewpoints
to the evaluation process, all segments of the Bar are represented on
the Commission.

A member of the Commission on Judicial Selection and Retention since 2003,
this marks the fifth time that Mr. Datz has served as Chairperson. He
has previously served as Vice-Chair three times.

Mr. Datz has served in several leadership positions within the local and
state legal community over the past 25 years. He currently serves as a
member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Judicial Evaluation Commission.

Mr. Datz, a trial attorney admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, represents
individuals in a wide variety of personal injury matters. His practice
is concentrated in the areas of Automobile Liability, Premises Liability
and Alternative Dispute Resolution. Mr. Datz was recognized by Philadelphia
Magazine as a Philadelphia SuperLawyer in 2009.
