HGSK Partner, Terry D. Goldberg, Is Featured In The December 2014 Edition Of Suburban Life Magazine (Bucks County)

Posted By Haggerty, Goldberg, Schleifer & Kupersmith, P.C.

Recently, Attorney Terry D. Goldberg was featured in Suburban Life Magazine, which highlighted his successes and various steps he took to become an accomplished lawyer. As a student, he attended Northeast High School and moved on to enroll at Temple University. Following his undergraduate studies, Attorney Goldberg attended the University of Tennessee School of Law where he earned his Juris Doctorate. Shortly after completing his law degree, he joined a firm that focused its practice on personal injury related cases.

After dedicating 15 years of his practice to the firm, Attorney Goldberg decided it was time to found his own firm, Terry D. Goldberg & Associates. Not too long after, Attorney Goldberg chose to expand his practice by joining forces with Richard T. Kupersmith, James C. Haggerty, and Charles J. Schleifer to form Haggerty, Goldberg, Schleifer & Kupersmith, P.C. In the interview with Suburban Life Magazine, Attorney Goldberg stated that each member of the newly formed legal team brought a variety of skills to the new firm.

As of now, the team is made up of roughly 25 lawyers and 75 staff members who occupy a 4,500 square foot area. When the firm expands, as they expect to do in the near future, Attorney Goldberg hopes that his team will occupy a space larger than 7,500 while increasing the number of attorneys practicing at the firm by about 50 percent.

The Focus of His Practice

Because Attorney Goldberg is dedicated to protecting the rights of his clients, he has helped secure positive legal outcomes for individuals facing situations involving the following:

As a dedicated personal injury lawyer, Attorney Goldberg maintains a busy schedule to improve his practice and maintain a wide range of skills that can benefit the lives of his clients. To do so, he has secured memberships in various associations, including the Philadelphia Bar Association, Bucks County Bar Association, Philadelphia Trial Lawyers, and the Pennsylvania Association of Justice.

Throughout the interview, Attorney Goldberg’s devotion to his clients is highlighted in a series of comments. He states, "I spend nights, weekends, to make sure I'm the most prepared person in the courtroom." He continues, "I feel that proper preparation prevents poor performance." From the beginning, his commitment to his clients, his diligent worth ethic, and his ceaseless fight to achieve positive outcomes has served him and his clients well.

When it comes to the future of his clients, Attorney Goldberg sees it as his goal to ensure their futures are safeguarded. He states, “"I have a passion to make sure my clients' rights are protected. I have hundreds of cases, but they only have one. I want to make sure every case is the most important to me at that time, because for every client, it is the most important case." His client-based approach has allowed him to treat his clients as priorities from the day their cases open to the day their cases close.

His Passion for Sports Fuels His Practice as a Lawyer

Although Attorney Goldberg spends the majority of his time focusing on his clients and their needs, he also makes time to accommodate his love of baseball. In fact, Attorney Goldberg played as the starting shortstop for the Maccabi USA Fast-Pitch Softball Team. During that time, he competed in various areas, including Mexico, Canada, Venezuela, Israel, Argentina, and the United States. In 2009 and 2007, Attorney Goldberg served as the head coach for the Maccabiah Games in Israel and the Pan Am Games in Argentina.

While on the surface it may not seem as though sports and law correlate, Attorney Goldberg begs to differ. He states that these two very different fields actually relate more than people may think. While attending Temple University, he was asked to write a paper that identified correlations between sports and law. Using baseball as his focus throughout the essay, Attorney Goldberg was able to make correlations between spectators and jurors, and umpires and judges. Additionally, he said, "I like to win—I always have. I wasn't best guy out there [on the baseball field], I can tell you, nobody worked harder, and I feel like I do that in my practice, too." Of course, Attorney Goldberg carries this mentality into his office and into the courtroom each day to gain successful outcomes for his clients.
